About the role
DMS, a division of Tribe Management Inc. is seeking a Live‑in Building Superintendent to support the day‑to‑day maintenance and operations of a residential building in North York. Reporting to the Regional Manager, this role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, clean, and well‑cared‑for living environment for residents.
This position is well suited to someone who takes pride in hands‑on work, communicates well with residents and teammates, and enjoys being part of a collaborative on‑site team.

What you’ll be responsible for
  • Performing general building maintenance and small repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and carpentry
  • Responding to after‑hours and weekend emergencies on a rotational on‑call schedule
  • Completing cleaning, landscaping, and snow removal when contractor services are unavailable or do not meet standards
  • Processing, completing, and closing maintenance work orders
  • Coordinating garbage and recycling movement to designated pick‑up areas
  • Maintaining inventory of tools, spare parts, and building supplies
  • Preparing vacant units for occupancy, including cleaning and minor repairs
  • Working collaboratively with contractors, vendors, and the property management team
  • Supporting additional duties within the scope of the role as required



What you bring
To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • Hands‑on ability to complete small repairs, including electrical, painting, plumbing, drywall, and general maintenance (consistent with other on‑site staff roles)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, contractors, and internal teams
  • A professional, reliable, and safety‑focused approach to on‑site work
Experience & skills
  • 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance or a similar role
  • Knowledge and experience using hand and power tools
  • Ability to work outdoors, and lift up to 25 kg, and safely work at heights using ladders
  • Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to a broader team
  • Basic computer literacy (email, work orders, simple documentation)
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Previous experience in a live‑in or residential building environment is an asset
