The Role 

We are seeking a Resident Caretaker to support the day-to-day operations of a residential rental property in New Westminster. This hands-on role combines property administration, building maintenance, resident service, and contractor coordination to ensure the property is well-maintained and professionally managed. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform regular cleaning and upkeep of common areas, turnover suites, and exterior grounds. 

  • Complete minor maintenance and repair work, including basic plumbing and building upkeep. 

  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, service providers, and maintenance vendors. 

  • Conduct move-in and move-out inspections and support resident onboarding processes. 

  • Collect and record rent payments and maintain accurate resident and property records. 

  • Prepare incident reports, building reports, and other required documentation. 

  • Monitor building safety and assist with fire code and regulatory compliance requirements. 

  • Respond to resident inquiries and work collaboratively with the Property Manager to address concerns. 

  • Participate in on-call emergency response as required. 

  • Provide support with other property operations as needed. 

Qualifications 

  • 2+ years of caretaking, building maintenance, or property management experience. 

  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail. 

  • Comfortable using computers and learning new software systems. 

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. 

  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence and access to a vehicle is considered an asset. 

  • Must be able to work on-site in New Westminster. This is not a remote position.
